Senior Travel Consultant

A rare opportunity to launch something extraordinary in Hull


We're opening a brand-new travel business in Hull City Centre — and it's quite unlike anything else in the area. A concierge-style destination, set in one of the city's most distinctive buildings, designed to feel less like a travel agency and more like a well-travelled private members' club.

This will be the sixth business in the Beverley Travel Group, and our most ambitious yet. We're looking for an experienced Senior Travel Consultant to take ownership of launching it, growing it, and shaping the personality of a brand-new brand from day one.

This is not a standard travel agency role. It's the chance to build something from the ground up — to become the face of a destination travel experience, to design how clients are welcomed, to shape how we tell our story, and to create a business that people travel across Hull and East Yorkshire to visit.

The Role

As the senior consultant leading our newest store, you'll do far more than sell holidays. You'll be the driving force behind the launch, growth and personality of the business. You'll work alongside one Travel Consultant in a beautifully designed setting, with the autonomy — and the responsibility — to shape how this store performs.


In this role, you will:

  • Lead the launch, performance and day-to-day running of the new store
  • Design and sell bespoke, tailor-made, long-haul, multi-centre and luxury holidays
  • Confidently sell premium and specialist cruise across ocean, river and expedition
  • Build a brand-new client base from scratch — through walk-ins, referrals, networking and word of mouth
  • Develop strong relationships with neighbouring businesses and the wider Hull community
  • Host in-store events, supplier evenings and community activity to build profile and footfall
  • Grow our local social media presence alongside the Group's marketing team
  • Manage your own enquiry pipeline, nurturing high-value clients across long sales cycles
  • Process ATOL bookings accurately and independently
  • Ensure full compliance with ABTA, ATOL and PTR requirements
  • Mentor and support your fellow Travel Consultant as the store grows
  • Protect client money, safeguard travellers and uphold our Charter


About You

This role is for someone with genuine entrepreneurial drive. You'll thrive on building something rather than stepping into something established. You'll be comfortable with quieter days spent nurturing relationships, just as much as busy days closing high-value bookings. You'll see an empty diary as opportunity, not a problem.


You'll need:

  • 3+ years' experience in a retail or homeworking travel role, with a strong sales track record
  • Proven experience selling tailor-made, long-haul, multi-centre and luxury holidays
  • Confidence selling premium and specialist cruise lines (ocean, river and expedition)
  • Comfort handling higher-value bookings (£5k–£20k+) with affluent, discerning clients
  • Experience handling your own ATOL bookings independently
  • An entrepreneurial mindset — comfortable with ambiguity, building from scratch, and trying new ideas
  • A confident networker, equally at home with clients and local business owners
  • Strong personal presentation, in keeping with a premium, design-led environment
  • Confidence and creativity with social media, content and storytelling
  • Genuine flexibility on working hours, including weekends and occasional evening events
  • A full UK driving licence (for fam trips, supplier visits and client meetings)
  • A passion for travel and the kind of curiosity that makes clients want to plan their next trip with you
