One of the best things about the Christmas period is definitely the christmas markets. There is just something about those little wooden huts, stripped with fairy lights and the mouth watering smell of mulled wine, pancakes, German sausages and eggnog, it's all just heavenly and we can finally experience it again this year!

European countries host some of the biggest and best markets over the christmas period... Cities like Krakow, Prague, Berlin, Coppenhagen and of course Budapest really know how to bring people, from all over the world, together at Christmas through their stunning christmas markets.

You dont have to travel so far to enjoy the festivities though, UK Christmas Markets also are well worth a visit!

If you're wanting to see the best Christmas Markets in Europe, Budapest should definitely be on your list! The festive season in Budapest is amazing, the whole city lit up and hundreds of huts dotted around the city, selling mulled wine and christmas handicrafts.
The market infront of St Stephens Basilica is known to be one of the Christmas markets in Budapest. Lined with chalets, decorations, festive foods and drinks and handicrafts, it definitely doesn't disappoint. An Ice skating rink is also located around the gorgeous christmas tree located in the centre of the square, could it get any more romantic? YES. You can watch the stunning light show that is projected onto the walls of the Basilica on the evening as the temperature drops and the sky darkens.

Prague offers some of the most beautiful christmas experiences, full of food stalls selling traditional Czech foods, baked pastries and providing live entertainment... it really is a fairytail experience that you won't forget! A lovely, small city filled with festivities so you will sure see everything there is to see on your short trip! The Old Town Square Christmas Market is the busiest and most famous in Prague or you can visit the Wenceslas Square Christmas Market, the choice is yours!

Krakow at Christmas time is one for the bucket list... the city is covered in decorations and loaded with markets selling traditional polish souveneirs, decorations and of course food! You can try a polish version of mulled wine or even (if you dare) Grzane Piwo, a hot spiced beer!

As mentioned earlier, UK Christmas Markets won't disappoint either! London's Winter Wonderland is something special and magical, as well as the other small markets around the city. Winter Wonderland begins on the 19th November this year, a huge christmas themed fun fair with all sorts of food and drink stalls, christmas themed rides and an enormous ice skating rink! The food stalls are international and sell a large variety of different cuisines, there is something for everyone in London.

Manchester's Christmas Market is the largest in the UK, with more than 300 stalls spread over 10 locations around the city. Most of the stalls are located in Albert Square, where you can find handmade gifts and decorations as well as plenty of amazing food from all around Europe!
